"Recurring Dreams"

He has been sitting in the dark all night long,
Looking out at the flickering street lamp down the lifeless street,
He has been wondering how his life would be,
Traveling through this ghost town all alone,
He have been feeling nothing but fear,
Afraid that tomorrow is way too far,
So he lits a cigarette and let it burn,
Because it reminds him of the fire that's still within him.

But they don't believe him,
But they stand in his way,
Veils is all they could see,
Lies is all they could hear,
They throw him with their fabricated dreams,
They drown him with their manufactured accusations,
On and On, they turn their back on him,
On and on, he's sick of trying.

So he crawls into the shadow of doubts,
He dwells in the infinite measure of uncertainties,
Because darkness is all he wanted to see,
Because his heart is all he wanted to hear.
He want to leave everything behind and never return,
Because he thinks everything that mattered has long expired,
But when he lets his soul break free,
He knew that the dream is all he have,
And it's the only thing that is worth holding on to.

So he allow himself to breakdown and cry,
To wash away what he has become,
And when the tears run dry,
He stood up and sought for light,
This is his final waking hour,
He is reaching for the door and walk out from the dark,
He is going to take the wheel and forget his way back,
This is when he understood the meaning of his recurring dreams,
It isn't about the changing lanes of the passing dreams,
It isn't about how many detours along the way,
He is no longer thinking about the shortest possible routes,
He is no longer afraid of being overdue,
All he wanted is to reach and make believe,
Someday, somewhere,
The place only in his dream is just right below his feet.
