You know those little power generator-cum-back up thingy on most buildings, just in case of power blackouts, people don't panic? Even it's just an emergency light, it's comforting to be able to see your way out, or at least it keeps you hangin' in there, especially at night. I remembered last time, the power was cut off sometime during the night in the architecture building. There was no back up power, no back up exit lights, and the swipe card wouldn't work, and no one could get out of the building. It was late night, late, probably 2 or 3 in the morning, and this Korean girl starts to panic and cried because it was dark, and she couldn't see her way down the steps. Then you know what, people complained, why had they not prepared an emergency storage, you know, maybe nobody ever bothered to take care of it. Those thing aren't really that important, you know, because its not like we have black outs on a daily basis right, so people took it for granted. If there had blackouts and the generator runs smoothly, it'd be like, you know, you'd feel like "wow, this little thing is amazing". When it's all over, you kinda really just forget about it and get on with their life like nothing happened because it's, you know, generator, is just a generator, it's not meant to be appreciated. And until the next time the blackout happens, and had the generator stop working, people panic and go "omg, you piece of crap, where are you when I needed you the most. Fucking piece of shit", you know, just because people never bothered to get it serviced, have it looked at from time to time. They pretty much expect them to work perfectly during cutoffs.
Yah, that's what people do. They fucking love having backups around, you know, just because they find the idea of it comforting, to make them feel good, or at least there's always something to fall on. But you know, you just don't pay for that thing and expect it to work in every occasion. Sometimes it breaks, and you've got to fix it. If you have bothered to give it a constant service, it 'd probably run sweet for you, but then, it's never a promise. It's just back up anyway.
